Green and Blue Zanzibar
The Green and Blue Ocean Lodge is located in Matemwe in the north-eastern part of
Zanzibar - with a wonderful view of the turquoise sea and
small island of Mnemba. Situated in a large and lush tropical garden, this
Boutique Hotel lies directly on the Indian Ocean, in
an intimate bay with a fine white, sandy beach.
Green and Blue is the dream come true of its Austrian owners and the
Austrian/German management team on site.
The comfortable, relaxed and well thought-out architecture of this very
intimate lodge is characterized by the simple elegance that is typical
of the island style. The bright white walls are traditionally kept open to
catch the cooling sea breeze. The lush vegetation has also formed the
characteristic makuti roofs made from dried palm leaves.

All 13 Sea Breeze Bungalows and the Luxury Ocean-Front Villa at Green and Blue are furnished and equipped with great care. The deliberate
and open architecture provides a cool breeze on sun-warmed skin. Guests are encouraged to just relax and have a peaceful time – which means there is no electronic equipment (TV, etc…) in the bungalows.
