Sultan Palace Hotel

Sultan Palace Hotel is a small luxury hotel located on the East Coast of Zanzibar, straddling a cliff and the northern end of the fabulous Dongwe / Bwejuu Beach. It lies directly beside the azure Indian Ocean and is surrounded by an unspoilt natural environment and wildlife.

Built in 1996 and recently completely renovated by it's Italian owner/manager, this elegant beach hotel offers truly personalized service to ensure that you feel totally pampered and relaxed.

Accommodation

Each of the 15 shell-shaped private villas is stylishly decorated with unique fabrics and local furnishings. Local African antiques are placed alongside Arabian pieces in homage to the Omani domination of the past.

All villas offer a living area of over 100 square meters, with large windows and private terraces offering superb views of the ocean or the tropical gardens.

Dining

The cuisine at Sultan Palace Hotel is Mediterranean, utilising a mix of Italian and local products - especially fresh fish and seafood, good tropical fruits and vegetables - and all accompanied by the best South African wines.

Meals are prepared by an Italian chef and are served under the magnificent makuti-roofed main restaurant or the new Beachside Restaurant.

Breakfast or candlelit dinners can also be served on your own private terrace, and special dishes can easily be prepared to satisfy your every desire!

Activities

The large infinity pool has magnificent views overlooking the ocean and offers the chance of a fresh, relaxing break in the luxuriant tropical garden. The pool area offers a 'wet bar' and massage area, and is an ideal place to while your time away against a backdrop of stunning sunsets over the Indian Ocean.

Sultan Palace Hotel is ideally situated for snorkelling, with a large natural rock pool in the reef that lies just offshore.
Boating trips can also be arranged on Sultan Palace's magnificent dhow, and fabulous beach walks await you along 20km of uninterrupted pristine east coast beaches!
