Upendo Private Villa sits right on a secluded beach in the area of Michamvi Pingwe (South East Coast of Zanzibar), overlooking the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.

Upendo Villa has been beautifully crafted by local craftsman (using local materials wherever possible). The roofs are made of woven palm leaves and the overall design is contemporary, making a wonderful compliment of two very different styles. Like the house, the furniture was designed by the owner and is made from coconut wood, with matting made by the local Woman’s Association in Stone Town. This all adds atmosphere and gives inspiring personal touches.
A small team looks after the guests. They help to make the retreat an unforgettable experience for those who stay with there. The staff includes your own private chef (optional), butler, housekeeper, gardener and security guard.
The cuisine focuses on all the fresh ingredients Zanzibar has to offer: fresh sea food, including crab, lobsters, prawns, fish, tropical fruit, and the famous Zanzibar spices & herbs. (Delicious vegetarian options are also available.) Everything at the villa is cooked to order by your private chef, who will spend a few minutes in the morning to help plan your meals for the day.
All meals are served at the onsite lounge & restaurant, except for breakfast which is served in the villa. There is a choice of 3 menu options for all the meals.
A private in-house Chef is also included when selecting the fully inclusive option. This option allows you full flexibility on meal times and menu requirements, giving a tailor made stay. Learn to cook Swahili dishes with the chef for free! Surcharges apply for seafood specials.
