Luxury Accommodation - South West Coast of Zanzibar
For many of Zanzibar's vistors, the South West Coast holds little attraction except for day tours to see the dolphins at Kizimkazi or the troops of Colobus monkeys in Jozani Forest.
Yet this part of the coastline - from just south of Stone Town, around the Fumba Peninsula to the ruins at Unguja Ukuu - offers some of the best marine, animal and historical conservation projects on the island.
Chumbe Island lies about 10km south of Stone Town, and is one of the largest offshore islands around Zanzibar. The coral reef around Chumbe is in excellent condition, and the island was made a Marine National Park in 1994.
